Barbara, native of Florence, holds a degree in Electronic Engineering. In 1989 she joins Officine Galileo, now Leonardo, in Space Line Of Business. She starts as System Engineer of Optomechanical Instruments for Space applications and grows acting as Project Manager of Electro-Optical Payloads in the frame of big contracts with the European Space Agency (ESA). Later she becomes responsible of the System Engineering department for the Electro-Optical Payloads and along the years she expands her responsibility perimeter up to the whole Space Engineering team, involved in all the space products developed by Leonardo in the Electronics Division. In this frame she leads the team through an approach based on principles such as group cohesion, proactiveness, accountability, and fostering young engineers development. In 2020, after 31 years in Leonardo, she decides it’s time for a significant change and joins Officina Stellare, an innovative, dynamic and smart company based in Veneto, with the role of COO. The mission in OS is to bring her experience and organization capabilities to support the company growth.
